Welcome to the PONTO DE CULTURA!

Ponto de Cultura/Point of Culture is a project initiated by the Brazilian government and Brazil’s Minister of Culture, Gilberto Gil, to strengthen and rescue Brazilian culture within Brazil and internationally.

ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco (ACSF) was officially recognized for its work preserving and promoting Brazilian culture to both national and local communities, and was declared as the United States West Coast  "Ponto de Cultura" or "point of culture".

We are excited and honored to be granted this prestigious title. The ACSF Ponto de Cultura project, is one of only three sites in the US, and one of only five outside of Brazil.

The Ponto de Cultura, is supported by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture through the Cultura Viva project and by the Consulate General of Brazil in San Francisco.
