ABOUT PONTO DE CULTURA

Founded in 1991, by master capoeira artist Márcia Treidler, ABADÁ-Capoeira is a philanthropic organization that works to preserve, developing diffuse the art of capoeira with integrity, using this art to enrich needy communities and the general public.
As a pioneer in preserving and developing Brazilian culture in the region, ABADÁ-Capoeira serves 20,000 people annually and mixes culture and citizenship with an emphasis on actions that deal with important social issues for Brazilian immigrants including assimilation, depression, and drug addiction, among others.
We are collaborating with several Brazilian leaders and artists to offer youth and young adults aged 12-24 of Brazilian heritage high-quality, FREE classes in capoeira, Afro-Brazilian dance, Afro-Brazilian percussion, music and Portuguese language.
Please help spread the word about this incredible opportunity for Brazilian immigrants and descendants of Brazilian immigrants to strengthen their knowledge, involvement and appreciation for their culture at one of San Francisco's premier cultural organizations.
